The 1000th boat has just registered to attend the 2017 Semaine du Golfe festival in Brittany, from 22 – 28 May this summer.

The superb 24-ton, 50.3 ft, yawl Amokura is coming for the first time to the festival, although she has already cruised to the “Little Sea” as Morbihan means in Breton. In the early 1960s, she spent months sailing around the Gulf with her owner of the time, the British journalist and author George Millar DSO MC. Millar wrote about this experience in a book published in 1963, titled Oyster River : One summer in an inland sea. Amokura will be joining the fleet that is sailing to the event coming from Falmouth.
