There is nothing like having your own half model of your favourite boat. These works of art were originally used by designers to create the lines of their vessels - to be transferred to the lofting floor by a boatbuilder. Peter paints his models and adds details like portholes, winches and rigging to create an authentic scale replica of a boat, with her correct lines and colour schemes. These are mounted on a wooden board to be hung in pride of place in your home.
Prices are surprisingly reasonable and Peter has thousands of plans to choose from. These make the ideal present for a sailor.
Peter's great-grandfather, Captain John Richard Ward, was a distinguished elder brother of the Trinity House light authority and he believes he is descended of the great marine artist, John Ward of Hull. His interest in boats and design and woodwork skills led him to continue the great tradition of making the half-model. He is represented in London galleries such as The Marine Gallery, Cowes, Isle of Wight, and yacht clubs along the English coast. He is based in Poole.
