The four yearly sailors’ jamboree celebrating all things nautical is the largest maritime festival in the world with more than 1500 vessels of all sizes attending. The six day event sees sailors with ships and craft of all sizes coming to the historical French naval port from all over the globe.

The International Maritime Festival is in its 7th edition, from 13 to 19 July 2016. Highlights include the Hermione, a replica of La Fayette’s historical flagship and a presentation by the French Navy, of an impressive test and measurement vessel. Expect sailing ships, traditional boats, exotic crafts, concerts, yachts, other boats and a fabulous gathering of salty characters from around the world.

This year the British Village will feature a range of craftsmen and women – featured in the July edition of Classic Sailor Magazine.
