The annual gathering of classic and heritage vessels, in the world’s third deepest natural harbour, combines with the Falmouth International Shanty Festival. The event attracts classic cruisers, racers and working boats with Bermudan, gaff and lug rigs, which fill the Falmouth Haven and race and parade in the Carrick Roads and the Bay. Two hundred and twelve vessels entered in 2017 and approximately 60,000 visitors were welcomed in the town for both events. Vessels came from around the UK, Germany and France with one all the way from the USA, via the Antigua Classics.

We look forward to welcoming returning participants and newcomers in 2018. Come and enjoy the camaraderie of the floating community on the Haven pontoons, the racing, the Parade of Sail and Power, the Classic Small Boat Parade (open boats powered by oar, sail or engine and 20’ or under) and bring a dinghy to enter the rowing and sculling competition on Saturday afternoon.

We will be pleased to see you at the Thursday evening pontoon reception, where you will be able to enjoy a pasty and a pint and listen to one of the shanty bands. On Friday, an element of culture as we are received in the Falmouth Art Gallery for a reception. You will also have the option to enjoy the barbecue at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on Saturday evening. Throughout the event there will be sixty shanty bands providing musical entertainment around the town, and there will be a Maritime Village on Custom House Quay where traditional marine skills will be demonstrated and there will be marine related retail stands.
