The 47th Swale Smack and Sailing Barge Match will be held on 10th August and is being dedicated to the memory of Lena Reekie, who was match Secretary for forty-six years and who sadly died earlier this year. The first start, from the Sand End Buoy will be for the Classes 4 and 5, at 1030hrs. Remember that gaffers, large and small, classic motor vessels and classic Bermudian craft are all welcome. There’s a class for Dutch barges as well. The skippers’ briefing is on Friday at the Hollowshore yard at 18.30.
