Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, the ten-day Rouen Armada (or the Armada de la Liberté, to give it its French title) is a key event in the international sailing calendar. Taking place on 6-16 June 2019, it will bring together visitors from near and far, along with thousands of French and foreign sailors. Fifty magnificent tall ships, along with military boats and submarines from all over the world, will line Rouen’s quaysides for ten days of celebrations, finishing with the Grand Parade along the River Seine, from Rouen up to the Normandy coast. The Rouen Armada is one of the largest free admission maritime events in the world, and expects to welcome over seven million visitors this year.

• 700,000 visitors are expected to visit Rouen’s quaysides every day over the ten days of the Rouen Armada
• 10% of visitors will come from abroad, 45% from Normandy and 45% from France
• 1 million visitors are expected to line the banks of the Seine for the final day of the Rouen Armada for the Grand Parade (Sunday 16 June)
• 1780, the year in which the Rouen Armada’s guest of honour, the legendary Hermione, ferried General Lafayette to the USA to aid the war efforts there
• 50+ tall ships and 25 pleasure boats are expected in Rouen for the event
• 30+ countries across the world will be represented at the event
• 7,000+ sailors hailing from all over the world will be welcomed in Rouen over the ten day festival
