Founded in 1986 by Pier Franco Gavagnin, director of Portosole Sanremo, Imperia’s Vele d’Epoca have become an important appointment for the classic regattas in the Mediterranean. At the first gathering about 30 boats participated, an important number that marked the first step for the exponential growth of the event.
In 2006 Officine Panerai became the Title Sponsor and decides to include the Vintage Sails in the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. Thanks to this, the Imperia stage can count on the presence of extraordinary boats and on a large audience that comes to admire the Great Queens of sail.
