The winning ways of Whooper

Meet Giovanni Belgrano – one of our featured classic sailors in the December edition, who takes racing his 1939 Giles one-off design to new heights as he tweaks her rig and systems, and trains his crew with an almost Olympic approach to get her winning against much more modern yachts in IRC classes – including winning the jewel in the crown the Round the Island Race Gold Roman Bowl… for the second time!

We joined Whooper to race this summer and saw skipper and crew in action to bring CS readers an in depth five page report in how and why they have become so successful.
