A lone sailor had to endure the loss of his floating home when his yacht got into difficulty and ended up on a Norfolk beach, writes Maurice Gray. John Favell had acquired the 43ft Mithril as a liveaboard, but sailing south from Hull to the Thames he suffered engine trouble and had to abandon his boat when she was driven ashore.

Read more on this story and how John fared with the generosity of the locals in the December-January issue of Classic Sailor.
