The entire contents of EISCA, Eyemouth International Sailing Craft Association Limited (Eisca), a Scottish registered Charity is for sale:

It comprises 270 Boats of Internationally significant importance from around the world. These were first collected, from 1968 by the late David Goddard as part of Exeter Maritime Museum – known as the International Sailing Craft Association (ISCA collection). The collection then became split into different locations under the newer EISCA banner, based in Eyemouth, with outposts in Cardiff and Lowestoft.

Boats range from an Arabian Pearling Dhow to classic racing Dinghies, Trans-Pacific and other competition craft alongside International workboats. Some go back 500 years but many are from the 19th century. The collection is understood to include many of the last known survivors of their type in the world, constructed from Reed, Timber, Metals including Aluminium and Iron, and of course Glass Fibre.

Also to be included in this online auction are a range of Artefacts including a photographic archive, Library and maritime ephemera.

There is an opportunity to by the entire collection – finishing at noon 21st July. Failing the complete sale, the entire contents of Eisca locations throughout the UK will be auctioned individually, here online, closing online Wednesday 26th July at 12 Noon *

Auctioneers have retained Captain George Hogg of the National Maritime Museum in Cornwall as an independent consultant to advise on the boats. Their catalogue is now 95% complete, with all boats now online. “During this week,” Kincaid says, “we have a team on all sites matching up sails and masts etc with the correct boat. Buyers are advised to check descriptions carefully on day prior to auction by which time we will have updated all boat descriptions as far as possible, with the components that are present. Given the situation that the liquidator is presented with at Eisca, there will unfortunately be many boats that are incomplete. If there is no mention of additional components in the catalogue description, bidders are advised to assume there are none.
