Pretty busy at the show today and the cool weather is making the Ocean Hall (where our stand J028 is located) busy as well.

We are sharing a stand with Team Sailing – whose Michelle Howell was one of the winners of yesterday’s RYA’s ilovesailing photo competition for the 2018 calendar.

Michelle Howell

Michelle was one of seven who attended the show yesterday to collect their prizes – their own photo mounted on “canvas board”. Michelle’s photo is on the August page – featuring a cruisey pic from last year at an anchorage in Menorca. “Not bad for an iphone!” she commented. The yearly competition had 120 entries and the calendar is now on sale.

The other winners are: Joanna Grierson from Poole, Dorset, Karen Langston from Beccles, Suffolk, Tony Ketley from Marlow, Bucks, Will Heritage from Cowes, Isle of Wight, Patrick Condy, Dunoon, Argyll, Jo Hider from Torteval, Guernsey, Alan Jenkins from Wirral, Merseyside, Nicholas Wake from Wintney, Hampshire, West Yorkshire, Chris Biscomb from Chonburi, Thailand, Charlie Cadin from St Martin, Jersey, Steve Cayley from Torquay, Devon.

Dave Selby is back at the show this year, with a book of his PBO writings called the Impractical Boat Owner – we joined Dave on his mission to promote boating for the everyman as he cruised down the Channel last year (and he was on the cover of our October-November issue). Irrepressible as ever and loving his adopted role as the sailor-clown-ashore he is giving talks about his work and the benefit of boating on a budget.
