Designers, builders, restorers, owners and sailors of classic yachts are being invited to suggest their own ideas for the Eighth Classic Yacht Symposium, to be held next spring at the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA.

To be held in partnership in 2019 together with the Classic Yacht Owner’s Association and the museum, the symposium – CYS 2019, will include a conference, live demonstrations, networking events and an industry trade show. The dates are set for March 22-24, 2019.

Since its inception in 2005, the CYS has evolved into a collaborative gathering of the faithful fueled by the sharing of ideas, techniques, projects, design & engineering research and the occasional bevvy. It’s affectionately known as the “Woodstock for Classic Yacht Enthusiasts“. And many agree its inspirational papers and presentations prepared by experts and lovers of old boats are part of its lifeblood.

With that in mind the CYS is asking for a 200 word treatment of your suggested topic. Treatments are due by May 31st and details can be accessed: HERE .  You will be informed of acceptance by June 30.

If you’d like to submit one, or for information on sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, visit www.classicyachtsymposium.com.
