Henley Traditional Boat Festival was Covid-cancelled last year but hopes to return over the weekend of 27th to 30th August. 2021.
Here is a letter from Henley leading light and organiser Judy, Lady McAlpine:
Dear supporter,
The speed at which vaccines are being delivered bodes well for the future. While few now underestimate Covid-19 and the threat it poses, the expectation is that we should all be able to enjoy a safe summer, embracing precautions that minimise transmission. Your Committee continue to keep a close eye on developments, both here in the UK and overseas. 
We welcomed news that the Stewards and Committe of the Henley Royal Regatta were planning to stage the event and in its new six-day format. Regrettably, the update yesterday changed everything: new (unconfirmed) dates in August and perhaps a new location in the form of Dorney Lake. We wish them well in their preparations, naturally hoping that Henley is retained as the host.
You may recall that the cancellation of Henley Royal Regatta last year meant crucial sections of the Upper Meadows site were blocked by heavy equipment that would usually be deployed on the opposite bank. Once again, therefore, we now face considerable hurdles that we hope to overcome by working closely with related stakeholders.
Our aspiration remains to deliver a weekend that more than makes up for the cancellation of last year. An update will be provided once all options are better understood.
Your Committee have been overwhelmed by your messages of support. Let’s all hope that nothing prevents us from once again gathering in Fawley Meadows, or perhaps nearby.
