Terminology for the different parts of a boat can be confusing. For instance when someone says ceiling… that’s not the inside of the cabin top – that would be the deckhead. A ceiling is the inboard lining (usually of slats or light planks) covering the frames in the cabin. And a floor is a structural timber… don’t confuse that with the cabin sole…
