The National Watersports Festival (NWF)! That’s where!

500 competitors on the water!

Taking place between 6 – 8th June 2018 at Rutland Water in the East Midlands, the NWF – supported by Anglian Water – attracts competitors from complete beginners to Olympic level riders. These guys and gals who put on incredible displays from floodlit ‘freestyle’ spectacles to multi start races, with hundreds of sails creating a mass of colour and fast, pumping movement on the water.

10,000 spectators!

This in turn draws over 10,000 spectators to the weekend, who are held captivated by the action. With all the main brands exhibiting from Red Paddle Co to Tushingham, many individuals get the buzz as soon as they enter the site and demo boards and equipment and get straight onto the water! With taster sessions in the sports of stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, dinghy sailing, kayaking and diving there’s really no excuse not to get wet and join in!

Live music, local produce

With the support of live music all weekend, artisan produce from around the region and The Grainstore Brewery providing all the liquid refreshment this is one event you want to get firmly in your calendar.

The NWF – welcomes all – young and old

Now in its 12th year, the NWF is known as the people’s festival, where ‘weekend warriors’ get to run shoulders and races alongside global icons of the sport. There are races for all levels and all ages from juniors just starting out in the sport to those who’ve swapped their retirement slippers for some action and are spending their latter years doing what they love!
