Gloucestershire based company, Marine 16, have produced a water and sludge separator designed to end diesel sludge problems.
Aimed at all boat owners the Diesel Dipper removes all water, sludge and contaminants from the very bottom, or floor, of the tank. Used when underway whilst the contents at the bottom of the tank are sloshing around it will effectively scour the tank bottom of all debris.
The Diesel Dipper is a permanently installed bypass system, fitted with a 12v pump. It sucks out all water and contaminants via the drain plug, into the patent pending “Tank Separator” where, separated from the diesel, they fall to the bottom and are simply removed by opening a drain valve. The clean diesel is then returned to the top of the tank after passing through a 40 micron Stainless Steel washable filter that adds fuel “Polishing”.
For boats without a drain plug they supply a “Dip Tube” .This simple flange is fitted to the top of the tank with 4 self tapping screws and allows a 10mm pipe to pass through to enable the dipper to scour everything off the bottom of the tank.
