Alasdair Flint with the AB spanner

We spotted these aspirational aluminium bronze adjustable spanners at the Beale Park show on the Arthur Beale stand. As Arthur Beale’s Alasdair Flint says: “These open to 24mm, they are non-sparking, won’t affect a compass as they are non-magnetic and they won’t rust – they are also light and stronger than steel and they don’t tarnish either. They are a once in a lifetime tool and have a space for your boat’s name to be engraved on the back… you’ll probably want to hang them somewhere in their own special space. Do put a lanyard on it though!

They are £49 – which is a few more pounds than a Bahco alloy steel
