£1,000 Reward – to return Dummy Flare Pack.
Andark (Diving and Watersport, based in Swanwick) are looking for the person who purchased a Coastal Flare Pack at Andark’s stand at the Southampton Boat Show in September last year (2016), as they believe they may have taken a pack with just two dummy flares enclosed!
They’ve spent months trying to track the person down and have so far been unsuccessful. They’ve tried to contact the seller via the till / bank information, contacted sailing clubs, sent out alerts to their thousands of customers but have so far drawn a blank. Obviously there could be tragic consequences if someone is carrying dummy flares when they believe them to be the proper kit.
So to alert the public Andark are offering the person who helps them to locate the pack, £1,000 worth of safety equipment for their club or nominated charity of their choice!
A coastal flare pack Andark sells should contain 6 flares and weighs 1.85kgs whereas the dummy flare pack is very lightweight as it only has two dummy units enclosed. Andark did sell other flare packs at the Boat Show but these would have been sent direct to customers after the Boat Show and there are no safety issues with these.
