The essential app for the River Thames

British Marine Thames Valley’s app, Explore Thames, has been enhanced and rebranded as the River Thames Guide. Instead of being a single app on IOS it is now available across available across iOS, Android and Amazon. The app itself is a complete planner and guide for travel and leisure on the River Thames (from its source to the barrier) including where you can go, how you get there and what is available on the way.

As well as the interactive map (overlaid with any mix of yards, marinas, slips, moorings, pubs, hotels, fuel, sanitation, fishing) the app features a journey planner (river distance, time, no of locks), bridge headways, weather, current conditions (all from Lechlade to Thames Barrier) and useful boating and river advice.

Mike Cook, British Marine Thames Valley Chairman commented, “The new River Thames Guide app is the next phase of our earlier Explore Thames app, now available to download free on all mobile platforms.  This is part of an on-going project to promote our members’ businesses and make journey planning easy for all river users – boating, paddling and walking (or running if your fit!).  It’s Free to download and if you’re using the River – it’s essential and covers the Thames from source to barrier.”

The app is free on all platforms and can be used on a tablet or mobile. To download the app visit http://www.riverthamesguide.net/downloads.html and follow instructions for your device or simply search “River Thames Guide” in your app store.
