As the deadline approaches British Marine reminds us that applications are still being accepted for a number of positions on the Board of Directors for the industry group. But you do not have much time left to apply, with the application window closing at 5pm on Tuesday 1 May 2018.

“We are looking for committed individuals from within British Marine member companies, with a passion for the marine industry, to use their business acumen to provide advice and guidance. The roles will involve being at the forefront of British Marine and the Boat Shows, and successful applicants will have a variety of responsibilities, which will include working with the Senior Management Team on:

  • General oversight of British Marine, its policies and decisions, taking Council proposed strategies into account
  • Setting the annual business plan for British Marine, including the organisation’s objectives and policies and monitoring performance against it
  • Agreeing the Boat Show strategy and business plan for promoting and managing our Boat Shows in the UK
  • Considering British Marine’s exhibition strategy within the UK to enhance the promotion of boating as a leisure activity
  • Monitoring the performance of the Shows

Successful applicants should expect to provide around 12 days of their time a year on a voluntary basis.”

The term for successful applicants will be 3 years from the date of British Marine’s Annual General Meeting this summer, with the possibility of re-election for a further 3-year term in 2021.
