Thrills and spills from last week at Antibes where 82 yachts ranging from 9m Tonfinous to the Big Class beauties like Cambria (1928) or Moonbeam (1920) gathered for the first large classic event of the Med. Antibes has been running since 1996 and being in June often has a reasonable breeze. It’s great to see these boats with their immaculate varnish, newly buffed and ready to race and the event inevitably draws quite a few British sailors; many of the boats are British designed and built.
