AN AWARD winning Brixham-based photographer has donated his £300 prize to the Trinity Sailing Foundation.

Peter Hunt — who has a large following on Facebook with his heritage vessel photography — won a top prize at the National Historic Ships Photographic Competition. Mr Hunt was awarded a £300 Arthur Beale chandlery voucher for his image of sailors climbing the rigging on board Tres Hombres (above).
Mr Hunt regularly takes photos of Trinity’s three historic vessels — Leader (1892), Provident (1924), and Golden Vanity (1908) — and wanted to show his support to the organisation.
Trinity’s Operations Director, Ben Wheatley, said: “Peter was aware that we were looking to buy a new AIS transceiver to fit on board our historic wooden gaff cutter Golden Vanity.
“She is used extensively for the youth sail training programme we deliver, and it will help Peter spot our boats so he can get some more great photos which he always kindly shares with us, we are very grateful for this kind gesture.
“Vanity has a busy season ahead, as well as her youth voyages, she will be offering adult cruises, including the Classic Channel Regatta and the Brixham Heritage Regatta, so this piece of kit was essential.”
